It doesn't even have to be a Dylan tune to bring out Jerry's Inner Dylan. On Live at Fillmore East (2/11/69), listen to the "aces are crawlin" part. I swear he's channeling Dylan!

Part of this is that almost EVERYONE in the mid, to late 60's was influenced by Dylan in some way or another . It is hard form the perspective of 2011, to fathom the level of respect and high regard he was held by many at the time .
Besides his lyrics, his singing also had a big impact : Lennon "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", Hendrix ( huge Dylan freak ), Rolling Stone -"Jig saw Puzzle", Kinks "Death of a Clown", etc etc etc .
So It is no wonder that Dylan left his mark on Jerry's singing, ( and Hunter's writing ).

Ah, then perhaps you agree with my comment above? Didn't read this far down before I posted.
